Robert Rodger

The Battalion arrived at Boulogne on the 10/05/1915 and were part of the 26th Brigade, 9th (Scottish) Division. Robert Died at Home of Gas Poisoning. He died at Coathill Hospital, Coatbridge. His Pension Record (1) states he had Tuberculosis. In 1918 the Division was involved in the Battle of St. Quentin, 21st - 23rd March, the First Battle of Bapaume, 24th - 25th March (these Battles were phases of the First Battles of the Somme 1918), the Battle of Messines, 10th - 11th April, the Battle of Bailleul, 13th - 15th April, the First Battle of Kemmel, 17th - 19th April, the Second Battle of Kemmel, 25th - 26th April (the Battles were phases of the Battles of the Lys). Robert is listed as PIPER on the Coatbridge Memorial (he was this too).
