Son of Alexander and Mary McLennan. Kenneth left a Will to his father. Kenneth's brother Private John MacLennan served with the Cameron Highlanders (12098) and the Machine Gun Corps (20538). He survived the war. From 1891 Census - Address - Mission House Dryharbour, Raasay, Portree, Inverness - Alexander MacLennan aged 49, Mary MacLennan aged 39, Margaret MacLennan aged 7, Jessie MacLennan aged 8, John MacLennan aged 6, Kenneth MacLennan aged 5, May MacLennan aged 3, Alexander MacLennan aged 1. From the 1901 Census - Address - No 17, Dryharbour, Raasay, Portree, Inverness - Alexander MacLennan aged 60, Mary MacLennan aged 48, Jessie MacLennan aged 18, John MacLennan aged 16, Kenneth MacLennan aged 15, May MacLennan aged 13, Alexander MacLennan aged 11, John MacLennan aged 9, Mary MacLennan aged 7. Kenneth's Pension was refused to his mother Mary of Lower Arnagrask, Muir of Ord, Ross-shire.

Additional Information

The Battalion arrived at Le Havre on the 05/11/1914 and were part of the 23rd Brigade, 8th Division. Kenneth was Killed in Action shortly after a Christmas Truce had been observed on some sectors of the Western Front. He is also remembered on the East United Free Church and Maxwell Parish Churches Rolls of Honour (see photos).
